I remember visiting this website once...
It was called 13 amazing things we learnt at London Film & Comic Con 2014 | SciFiNow - The World's Best Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Magazine
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
Phew. Well, that’s the London Film & Comic Con 2014 done. Three and a half days of photoshoots, signings, panels, queuing, nerding out with like-minded individuals and buying things you probably shouldn’t.
Here’s a run-down of the important (and entirely frivolous) things we learnt at LFCC, complete with pictures by James Randall-Coath.
1. Stan Lee has just filmed his Avengers: Age of Ultron cameo
The cameo was filmed in the UK last week, and Chris Hemsworth, at the very least, was present. “I can’t tell you what it is,” an excited Stan told us, “but it was for the
Series 8 raises some questions about the morality of the 12th Doctor. But when musing on the nature of goodness, Steven Moffat let this slip: “I think trying to do the right thing is the only thing that makes you good. Not accidentally doing the right thing, or doing a bad thing for a good reason. Aspiring to be good. Anyone who asks themselves ‘am I a good man?’ is a good man. Which slightly spoils the teaser trailer for you. So in answer to [the Doctor’s] question, is the Doctor a good man? Yes.”
panel ten minutes early, then proceeded to shake hands with and personally greet just about everyone in the audience. He went on to describe
as “the best use of television that I have ever been involved in”.
“I keep thinking DC could probably make a lot more money with Superman and Batman if they announced that I’d have a cameo in them.”
Daniel Portman, who plays the, shall we say, ‘gifted’ Podrick, is ambivalent about his character’s prowess: “The amount of pressure that I’m under to perform sexually is crippling,” he joked. “It’s destroying my social life. There are a lot of people who think I have a magic penis.”
6. Paul McGann reckons we’re in for something special with Peter Capaldi
“Personally, I think Peter [Capaldi] might be the best Doctor ever.” Paul went on to add that he’s “beautifully intelligent. Able to act intelligent. And when he’s funny, he can be simultaneously scary.”
“She was our talisman,” said the Apollo star. “She was the force of nature who always tipped the battle in our favour. And when she was gone the talisman remained. Because the dead never really leave you, you still hear their voice, their counsel.”
8. Capaldi’s previous appearances in the Whoniverse will be explained
and his enthusiasm for his costume (which, we were assured, doesn’t look much like Jon Pertwee’s at all once you see it in action), Moffat touched upon his
history: “I don’t think it’s something you have to resolve… But I did remember that Russell T Davies said that he had an explanation for why his
character, so I asked him if that explanation still applies now, and it pretty much does. So we will address it in a small way.”
9. Milo Ventimiglia will not be back for the new series of Heroes
“The show itself is coming back, but I’m not a part of it. I’ve got a new show at ABC called The Whispers. It’s about aliens coming down to take over. It’s based on a Ray Bradbury short story, produced by Steven Spielberg. But
are off doing their own thing. Jack Coleman who played Horn Rimmed Glasses, Noah Bennett, he’s a part of the show.”
10. Game Of Thrones Season 5 will be back in the brothel
Will Tudor, who plays the King’s Landing brothel procurer (and occasional prostitute) Olyvar confirmed, after some deliberation, that he will be back in season five. But Finn Jones (Loras Tyrell) was keen to remind everyone that “I’m as clueless as you. The series is starting to move away from the books”.
11. Gail Simone’s new DC comic series has something to do with a cat
“One thing I’ll say about it is that it’s a huge secret and there might be a cat in it,” she told us. “A cat who’s a red-head.” A ‘secret’? Involving a red-haired cat? Could this have something to do with Secret Six’s Catman?
Edward James Olmos is the godfather to Jamie Bamber’s kids. James Callis stayed at Olmos’ house for six months. Michael Hogan calls him a couple of times a week. These guys just make you want to explode with good will.
13. Blondes are hugely popular with cosplayers right now
You couldn’t move for Daenerys Targaryens and Elsas from
