I lost my parents five years ago. I’ve been stuck in this miserable orphanage ever since. I’m fifteen years old. My odds of getting adopted are really low. Most people want a baby or a little kid. For five years I’ve been watching the other girls get adopted one by one. “Jean, hurry up and get ready.” Miss. Anderson told me. Miss. Anderson is in charge of the girls half of the orphanage. She was standing to the doorway of my room. “This time you might be the one who gets adopted.” I leaned against the wall...
