I. Percy

Percy was starting to get impatient. He paced back and forth near the lake, not far away from the Senate House.
Today is the day, Percy thought over and over. The first day he got to see Annabeth in eight months. Well, technically, he had been sleeping the last six months. But that was no ordinary power-nap. The ancient Greek goddess Queen, Juno, had decided that Percy was too dangerous to have wandering around while other events were taking place. "A loose canon." Her words, not his.
So he had woken up in a burnt wooden mansion, without memories, where a wolf told him to travel south to a place where other people like him (demigods, children of Roman gods) were living in safety. Along the way, he met two snake-haired gorgons, carried a hippie goddess across a river that robbed him of his iron skin, then met an assortment of other demigods, like a guy who had a Kool-Aid drinking problem, a jerk who ripped open stuffed animals to tell the future, a Chinese Canadian baby-man who could turn into animals, and a girl with the curse of finding jewelry and more of the earth's riches. Of course, he went on quest with the last two, along with a harpy with photographic memory and a filthy-mouthed horse, to free Death so monsters and other servants of the ancient earth goddess Gaea would die.
Basically, the normal demigod experience. And now, those people were his friends. Or ninety-nine percent of them.
"You realize if this is some trick, we're going to kill you." Octavian, a teddy-bear's worst nightmare, whispered in his ear.
"And I told you," Percy whispered back, "It's not a trap. If you ripped open one of your Beanie-Babies, you'd see that. Unless of course you're faking."
Octavian flushed and stepped away. Most people would have a hard time getting under Percy's skin, but Octavian managed. Maybe because he had a lot of Camp Jupiter wrapped around his twisted finger. Maybe because he was a debater, a thinker, and Percy was a warrior. Or maybe Percy just had terrible luck trying to be friendly with blonde-haired, blue-eyed guys who looked like they were planning different ways to kill you. Probably all three. Percy hoped the last one wasn't true. Otherwise, he would be facing some issues with Camp Jupiter's last praetor, Jason.
"Octavian giving you any trouble?" Frank asked. "Because, you know, I could turn into a bear and rip his head off."
Percy smirked. "It's cool, Frank."
Hazel frowned. "Besides, Frank, everyone would hate you again if you randomly attacked one of their senior campers."
Frank scowled. "Yeah, well, Percy, just give me the word, and-"
He drew two fingers across his throat.
Percy smiled, "Frank, you're the greatest son of Mars in existence."
Frank blushed. He wasn't the greatest looking guy, with his baby-like face and ripped, oversized body, but he was indeed the greatest son of Mars.
Hazel nudged Percy. "Is Jason really going to be on the ship?"
"Definitely."
Hazel's gold eyes shown. She shook her head, causing her curly dark hair to cascade around her shoulders, then looked back up at the approaching warship.
"But so is Sammy."
Percy flinched. One guy on the flying warship approaching Camp Jupiter was Sammy Valdez, a friend of Hazel from the nineteen-forties. Long story. But basically, the guy was Hazel's ex-boyfriend. Percy hoped she wouldn't dump Frank for the new guy. They made a good couple, if they even were dating yet.
The Argo II approached the lakes at a high speed.
Terminus, the armless statue god that guarded the borders, cried out. "Hey! They have weapons! No weapons allowed through the Pomerian line! I'm grabbing them and throwing them away!"
Percy learned not to question Terminus' delusion of having hands. Instead, he said,
"Terminus, they are visitors. They don't know our way yet. Let them through, praetor's orders."
Terminus narrowed his stone eyes. "Very well, Praetor Jackson," then, he murmured quietly, but still loud enough for Percy to hear, "They should at least show me their passports."
The ship flew in. But it didn't stop. In fact, it swerved to the right, then started firing cannonballs at the clouds. Fireballs ignited in the sky. Black shapes darted around the ship. Percy realized something.
"They're under attack!" he shouted.
The citizens of Camp Jupiter panicked. They had just been attack by a massive army of Cyclopes, centaurs, and Earth-born, and they were exhausted.
Percy wasted no time. "Reyna! Can I borrow Scipio?"
Reyna scowled. "Fine. But you better not hurt my pegasi!"
Percy gave his best taxi-whistle, and a peanut-butter color pegasus flew down to Percy. Percy leaped on, and Scipio flew up to the Argo II.

Percy jumped down and rolled onto the deck of the warship. It was beautiful. Too bad it was in flames.
Wood was splintered like massive claws had run through it. Percy glanced around, and realized the gryphons, black monsters with eagle head and wings and a body of a "lion". More like hyena.
Percy slashed a few away, then silently thanked Thanatos that the monsters didn't immediately reform.
Then he saw the first person on board. Sammy Valdez, with his curly black hair and insane-caffeinated eyes, like he would burst into flames any second.
Sammy was running around like Hades, manning canons and ballistae, desperately trying to wade off the attacking gryphons. Percy ran up to him.
"Sammy, where are the others?" Percy yelled over the squawking of gryphons and exploding cannonballs.
"Downstairs! Wait, Sammy? My name's Leo!"
"Whatever, Sam. I gotta go get my girl!"
Percy sprinted downstairs, going through wooden hallways where oil lamps hung on the walls. Last time Percy saw the inside of the ship, he thought it was beautiful. Now, under the threat of Gaea, the hallways looked dark and suspicious, with the lamps casting an eerie red glow across everything, casting shadows at a thousand different angles, making Percy feel disoriented. He heard Leo/Sammy running after him, but didn't stop to wait. He was starting to hear voices.
"Peeeeerrrcy!"
"Get us out of here Kelp Head!"
"Seaweed Brain? Are you there?"
The last voice sent adrenaline through his veins, causing him to run faster. Annabeth was in trouble.
Percy burst through the door to see where the voices were coming from. He emerged in a large, dark room. He heard a steady, soft chug, chug, and assumed it was the engine room. But he couldn't see the walls, so the room could've gone on forever.
Then, Annabeth spoke again.
"Oh, Percy, thank the Gods you're here!"
Percy's heart leaped into his throat at the voice of his girlfriend. "Annabeth?" He asked hopefully, not daring to believe it was true.
"Wait, dude-" Leo came running in, but the door slammed in his face, locking Percy in and making the room pitch black.
Then, a blood red fire lit in the center of the room, directly in front of Percy, causing him to stumble back. The fire cast a glow across the room, showing a most unwelcome sight.
Creatures with rusty red fur roamed all around him, surrounding the room. They looked kinda like stags, with cloven hooves and a lightly furred body, but with long plumes of tails like a horse. But their head was like a wild cat, pointy ears, snout with whiskers, wide, unblinking dark eyes. One bared its teeth at Percy. Except they weren't teeth. It was just one long row of sharp white along the top and bottom of its jaws, like all its sharp teeth had been fused together into two long, fat teeth.
The one nearest to Percy then spoke, in a perfect imitation of Annabeth.
"Oh, thank you Percy. He were starting to worry you'd never come. But now you're here! And we can feast again on the flesh of the son of Neptune."

Percy was used to weird. But he wasn't expecting these furry little half deer-half cats to be imitating his friends voice.
"Aren't you ripping off that Cyclopes ability?" was the only thing Percy could say.
Another beast walked up and snarled, then said in Grover, Percy's satyr best friend's voice,
"Of course not fool. The Cyclopes learned their ability from us, the Leucrocotta!"
Another monster hissed in the voice of Thalia, the daughter of Zeus. "We once lived in Africa, preying off the foolish mortals who mistook us for their loves ones. We can copy anyone's voice perfectly."
The Annabeth-monster seemed to grin. "But you do not care, do you? Yes, I think he cut your miserable little life short. Much better than for you to go through the tragedies that await in Rome. Leucrocotta, kill the son of Neptune! We feast!"
A monster jumped at him, but Percy was way to experienced to let a few deer-cats get the best of him. In one swift motion, his sword, Riptide, was drawn, and he slashed the monster in two. Percy sent a silent thanks up to Thanatos, who was now doing his job again, keeping the monsters from immediately reforming.
Two more kicked at him and were quickly expelled to Tartarus. But there were too many, almost fifty. Percy ran back at the door, and smashed his shoulder into it. The wood splintered, and he cracked through the door, causing Leo to yelp and roll out of the way. The beast followed, and Percy jumped to his feet and ran, finding Leo right by his side.
"What I was trying to tell you before," Leo panted as they were running, "Is that the others are asleep downstairs in the hammocks!"
"Oooooh," Percy grinned sheepishly, "Sorry 'bout that. Hey, by the way, I'm Percy. Percy Jackson."
Leo's eyes widened as he stared at Percy. "The Percy Jackson?"
He wasn't watching where he was going, so he instantly smashed into a wall. Percy quickly pulled him up and sprinted away, Leo trailing behind him, mumbling, "I just met the Percy Jackson. The Percy Jackson."
Percy finally out-raced the pack of deer-cats. He and Leo lost them a while back, and ended up near the hammocks. They were greeted by an escort of heavily armed friends.
"Idiot!" was the first word Percy heard from two girls, before he felt himself get crushed and knocked to the floor. When he checked who it was, he saw two heads buried in his chest, one with curly red hair, the other spiky and black.
Percy grinned. "Oh yeah! I forgot there would be people who missed me besides Annabeth and Grover."
Percy suddenly felt a searing volt of electricity jolt through every part of his body. He felt his hair stand on end and start to steam.
"Do you have any idea how worried we were?" Thalia screamed at him.
Rachel gasped. "You remember us?"
Percy rolled his eyes, "No, I just assumed that when girls are mad at me, it has to be Thalia Grace or Rachel Elizabeth Dare. Or Annabeth. Or Clarisse. Or-"
"Yeah, I think they got it." A blond guy spoke up for the first time. Percy looked at him, and saw he had bright blue eyes like Thalia, and a scar over his lip. Behind him stood a girl with chocolate hair and multicolored eyes. Percy had seen the guy in his dreams, and his eyes really looked like Thalia's... well, he could put two and two together. (Or, according to him he could. Ask anyone else, and you might hear something different.)
"Oh, and you must be Jason Grace, praetor of the legion, and Thalia's sister?" Percy guessed the last part.
Everyone looked at him odd. "How'd you know that?" Thalia asked.
Percy shrugged. "I dunno. The eyes. Or maybe the fact you two have the same exact last name."
"Oh yeah."
"Hey! I heard- PEEERRRCCCCCY!"
A satyr dashed in the hall, with curly brown hair and goatee. He saw Percy, then smashed into him, with a bear hug.
Percy smirked and awkwardly patted Grover's back. "Oh, uh, hey Grover. Nice to see you again."
Grover jumped away suddenly, then yelled, "That's what you have to say to me! Last time we met you said, and I quote, "I don't have any spare change"!"
Everyone stared at Percy again. Percy shrugged again. "Hey, I didn't! Oh, and Camp Jupiter has a little different views of satyrs."
"Wow. We've had Percy back for thirty seconds and I'm already annoyed." grumbled Thalia.
Percy grinned. "Hey, what'd you expect? It's me."
The girl with brown hair frowned. "Huh. No one at camp ever told us you were annoying."
Leo joined in, "Or so insane. More like a hero. Not that I doubt the hero part or think you are insane, great leader."
Percy frowned. "Wait, they said I was a hero?"
He turned to Grover, Thalia, and Rachel. "So you only say nice things about me behind my back, huh?"
Rachel grinned, "Hey, I think you're confusing me and Grover with Annabeth. And speaking of her, I do believe this is the first time you haven't mentioned her in over five minutes-"
"So," Percy interrupted, "Where's Annabeth?"
Rachel laughed, "Sleeping in her room. On the left two doors down the hall."
But before she had even finished, Percy was sprinting away.
He tripped and rolled into Annabeth's room. Amazingly enough, she hadn't even woken up from all the commotion. She was sound asleep, still in her normal clothes of jeans and a T-shirt. Percy tip-toed over to her, and stood over her, his face an inch away from hers.
He whispered, "Up and at em, Sleeping Beauty."
Annabeth yawned, and her eyes slowly opened. She smiled drowsily.
"Hey, dream-Percy," she mumbled sleepily.
Percy arched an eyebrow, "Dream-Percy?"
Annabeth said, "You're a dream. I always meet you in my dreams. Too good to be reality. But that doesn't mean I can't enjoy this."
Percy tsked disappointedly. "Sorry, baby, but this ain't no dream. I'm in the flesh."
The scream that followed could be registered as a point 7 magnitude earthquake.
Next thing Percy knew, he was on the floor, with Annabeth's arms wrapped around his neck, and feeling her lips on every inch of his face. Except one, which he felt the need to voice.
"Whoa, girl, you're getting every spot except the one I care about."
Annabeth laughed, a little hysterically from the stress of being separated so long, then gave Percy a long, deep kiss, on the lips exactly like Percy wanted it, that almost made the months apart worth it.
"Eh-hem." Someone spoke behind them. Percy and Annabeth broke apart, to see Leo, Piper, Jason, Thalia, Grover, and Rachel watching them. Leo was miming loosing his lunch, and Thalia had her arms crossed.
"Get a room." Thalia grunted.
Percy said, "First of all, we're in a room! And second, go away! Can't two people get some privacy anymore! It's like a recap of my last birthday all over again!"
Annabeth gasped. "You remember!"
Percy grunted. "No thanks to Juno. I swear, next time I see her I will drown her. And in real life too, not just in my dreams."
Jason, Leo, and Piper gasped, while Thalia and Annabeth laughed.
Jason said, "You actually tried to drown Juno?"
"That takes major guts, man!" Leo said, "And not to mention making our last quest a complete waste if you succeeded."
"Why?" Percy asked.
"We had to rescue her from her prison!"
Percy narrowed his eyes. "Juno told me people let her out of jail. So you were the idiots who did it?"
A score of different reactions. More laughter from Percy's close friends, and indignant cries from the three goddess free-ers.
Suddenly, Percy heard a crash from above. Just because he was back with friends didn't mean they were out of the blue yet.
"Uh, guys, we might wanna worry about the evil subject of Juno for after we escape!" Percy said. "Come on!"
He grabbed Annabeth and Grover by the wrists, and dragged then behind him as he ran to the deck, the others scrambling to follow.

When the eight of them reached the deck, they were surrounded. Packs of beasts were on every side, both gryphons and the deer-cat Leucrocotta. They snarled and squawked, bearing fangs and slashing claws.
"So," Leo tried to say conversationally, but still had a quiver in his voice, "Anyone got a plan."
Percy said, "Bout a hundred and sixty."
Annabeth asked, "And how many good ones?"
Percy grinned. "One."
"Uh, any time now!" Jason yelped as a gryphon tentatively clawed at him.
"Aight. Mizzenmast!" Percy yelled. The ship lurched, and Percy felt the Argo II come under his command. He imagined all the canons and ballistae on the deck of the ship turning.
"Uh, Percy?" Grover whimpered. "Seriously! They smell like bunnies! Bunnies and underground!"
BOOM!
All the ship's weapons turned as one to face the pack of beasts, and fired as one. Several explosions and clouds of dust later, and a big chunk had been taken out of the Leucrocotta. But the gryphons were more evasive, most of them flying away before the canons struck. They circled around and went in for a dive.
Percy was about to draw Riptide, but before he could, a gryphon grabbed him by the arms and started to fly off. Percy didn't want to be carried off again. And this time, no Frank to shoot the gryphon down with arrows. Instead, Percy managed some gymnastics. He swung his legs up, kicking into the gryphon's stomach, then pushed off. The force made the gryphon let go, and Percy fell a few feet back to the Argo. He landed directly on the edge of the ship. He glanced back, and saw the crowd of Romans around the lakes far below. He turned back, to see his friends trying to rush to his aid, but were cut off by the gryphons. They seemed intent of capturing Percy, and simply pushed off his friends, not even caring when the Graces blasted some of them with lightning, or when Leo- Leo shoots fire from his hands? That's something to ask about later.
Percy felt a surge of protectiveness go through him. Some of his closest friends were up here, and his new family down their. And these stupid monsters dared to try and stop them from finally being at peace?
Percy knew what he must do. He jumped backwards, off the edge of the ship, and started sailing towards the water. The last words he heard from the ship were Leo Valdez and Jason Grace saying, "Holy mother!"
The wind whipped him as he fell, just like when he fell from the Arch all those years ago.
He hit the water with a huge splash, then concentrated on the water around him.
The water started bubbling, like it was boiling hot, and a gyser, a massive pillar of water, propelled Percy into the sky. The water stopped right as he reached the height of the Argo II.
He saw some people gape at him, but Annabeth just grinned and said, "Ah, Percy, so nice of you to join us again."
Percy grinned as a personal hurricane surrounded him, whipping his hair back and forth, and the power of the water and storm filled his veins.
"Later ugly." was the last thing those gryphons heard, as a massive flood washed over them, causing them to be the first creatures to drown a hundred feet above sea level.
The water cleared, and the three new people, Jason, Piper, and Leo, gaped at him again. Everyone else acted like it was normal. Percy snapped his fingers, and the Argo II slowly docked at the shore. A slide of water formed, and everyone aboard the Argo II stumbled onto ground at the Roman camp. Percy stood between the two groups. On one side, Annabeth, Thalia, Rachel, Grover, Piper, and Leo stared in wonder and shock at the Roman camp. Jason cowered behind Piper, too afraid to see his old friends.
One the other side, Reyna, Frank, Hazel, Dakota, Gwen, Octavian, Terminus, not to mention a horde of random creatures like Hannibal or Arion, and the entire legion of Camp Jupiter.
Percy grinned sheepishly at the two sides, and said the only thing he could think of,
"Eh, Romans, meet my old family. And you guys, welcome to Rome!"

II. Leo.

Leo sat down in his official "Supreme Commander of the Argo II" chair. Well, the dark-haired chick in purple robes, who Jason called Reyna, said it was an Ambassador of Camp Half-Blood chair, but they were all the same to Leo. They implied power and respect. And Leo liked the cautious respect some of the Romans were giving him. When word spread Leo built the Argo II, he became famous. And the fact that Leo was the one spreading the word and wasn't telling the Romans he had about twenty other people to help didn't damped his spirits.
So now, he was seated between his two great friends, Piper and Jason, in the Romans' Senate Building, which was basically an oval table with two golden thrones at the head. The one on the right was where Reyna was sitting. The other one was supposed to be for Percy, but he, along with Annabeth, were mysteriously absent.
The other people attending this meeting were Thalia, Rachel, and Grover from Camp. From Rome, there was a girl with curly dark hair, who Jason said was Hazel, an Asian guy who introduced himself as Frank, a blonde scarecrow Jason grumbled was Octavian, a curly haired guy with creepy red lips named Dakota, some purple ghosts called Lares, and some other demigods. There were also a group of girls standing in one corner, all armed. They two representatives sitting down at the table, a auburn-haired girl and a girl with dark hair and a complexion similar to Reyna's. They were introduces as Kinzie and Hylla respectively.
There was a tension in the room. Jason and Piper were sitting close together, and Reyna was watching them intently, her eyes narrowed. Piper looked uneasily back at Reyna, and Jason shifted uncomfortably, like he was trying to decide which girl to try and comfort.
And the dark-haired girl, Hazel, was staring at Leo, blushing. Leo didn't understand what that meant. And the guy next to her, Frank, kept looking from one to another, then started glaring at Leo. Leo just kept to himself.
Also, Octavian and a few Lares were glaring at the Greeks, who glared right back. Thalia particularly seemed to hate him.
In all, the room wasn't exactly pleasant to be in.
"Where are they?" Piper whispered to Leo, "We can't start this without Percy and Annabeth."
Thalia smirked at the other girl, "Oh, they're probably off doing some romantic couple-y thing."
Leo wolf-whistled as Piper 'awww-ed' like a true daughter of Aphrodite.
Just then, Percy poked his head into the room. It was amazing, Leo thought, how one person could change the atmosphere of the whole room. Both Greeks and Romans smiled when Percy's goofy grin appeared. Even Leo, who had known Percy for three minutes, in which Percy called him Sammy and jumped off a ship, thought he would be a great friend and warrior to both camps.
Percy looked sweaty, and his hair was a rat's nest. Leo grinned wolfishly,
"Oh, having a romantic time with Annabeth, huh?"
Percy grinned. "You bet."
Then Annabeth pushed past him. She too looked exhausted and messy, and she was- wait, she was holding a sword over her shoulder?
Annabeth scoffed, "I can't believe the stuff they let you do. They let you fight Kronos, fight Giants, rescue Olympus, yet you can't even beat a trivial daughter of Athena in a sword match."
Thalia grinned arrogantly, "See? I told you they were doing something romantic?"
Piper looked horrified, "Fighting is romantic to them?"
Leo muttered, "I had a totally different idea of romantic when they came in sweaty and tired..."
"Hey!" Percy said in protest to Annabeth's last comment, "In my defense, Kronos and the Giants don't have the option of kissing me to distract me from your knife!"
The whole room started to snicker.
Reyna cleared her throat, "Um, diplomat Chase, praetor Jackson, I suggest you take your seats so this very important discussion can begin?"
"Important discussion?" Percy asked curiously.
"Oh, you know, the two different camps that spent years trying to kill each other finally join for the first time in hundreds of years to discuss the fate of the world."
Percy shrugged, "Oh that. Yeah, I do stuff like that every day."
More people laughed as Percy slouched in his praetor chair, like a typical teenager, making the dignified throne look silly.
"So-o-o," Percy said, "Why am I still praetor? I mean, Jason is back now."
"Uh," Jason said, "I really don't think me being praetor is a good idea right now."
"Why not?"
"I still don't remember much. I can barely remember my friends' names, let alone our history. I can't lead without memories."
"You don't have your memories?"
"Uh, yeah."
"Hmm," Percy said thoughtfully, "I can't think of anything worse than not having my memories."
The room laughed again. Leo was really starting to like this guy.
"But in all seriousness, Percy," Rachel asked, "How can you have your memories."
"Yes, you never did tell any of us how you miraculously recovered," said Reyna.
"Oh, that's because-" Frank began, but then Percy stomped on his foot. Percy glared at Frank, and Frank seemed to realize what Percy was trying to silently communicate.
"May I remind Centurion Zhang that that act may be inappropriate for someone of my status," Percy said.
Frank nodded, looking annoyed about the foot-stomping thing.
"So, why do you have your memories?"
Percy said, almost like he was asking a question hopefully, "Juno likes me?"
Everyone was in hysterics now.
"Canis filius!" Percy muttered in Latin, "I knew I shouldn't use a joke to explain things."
"Really, what is it, Percy?" Annabeth put a reassuring hand on Percy's arm.
"Um.. well... you see- Frank!"
He yelled at Frank, who was miming drinking something. Thalia frowned.
"You drank to get back your memories? Cause I think drinking would do the opposite."
"Whoa, I didn't drink alcohol! I do not promote underage drinking!" Percy said, "Leave the drinking to Dakota."
Right on cue, Dakota took a swig from his Kool-Aid flask.
Annabeth snapped on his point, "Ha! You said "I didn't drink alcohol[i]"! That means you drank [i]something!"
"Alright, fine, I drank a vial of blood from-"
"You drank a vile of blood?" was pretty much everyone in the rooms reaction.
"No! Well... yes. But that makes me sound like a vampire! It wasn't human blood, it was gorgon blood!"
Annabeth gasped, "Gorgon blood? That's the most poisonous thing on earth! Why would you drink that? How would it give you your memories?"
Percy rolled his eyes, "You automatically assume I drink the poison rather than the healer."
"Well you are an idiot."
Percy flushed, "I drank the gorgon blood and it slowly healed my memories."
"And why was it so hard for you to tell us that?"
Percy got a weird gleam in his eye. Leo wouldn't have even seen it if Piper didn't gasp and point at it for Leo.
"Um, well... gorgon blood could heal anything. Even bring back the dead. It was kinda selfish to use it for myself when there are a lot of others who could use it more than me."
Everyone accepted that. Apparently, that was the type of thing Percy would say. But Piper nudged Leo and Jason and whispered,
"He's acting. I can tell, from years of watching my dad. Something else is up."
She cleared her throat and spoke up for Percy to here, over the voices of others reassuring Percy he did the right thing.
"Hey Percy, you're the son of Poseidon, right? So can you surf good?"
Percy blushed again, as Thalia and Grover snickered and muttered a name like "Nico".
"Uh, I guess so," he shrugged.
"So maybe after this you can teach me how to surf? Cause my dad and I really love to, but I never could."
"Sure. Kinda random, but okay." Percy said uneasily.
Octavian cleared his throat. "I think we have had enough small talk for now. We have important business to discuss!"
Percy nodded, "Right, we have to discuss who gets to sleep in the praetor's cabin! Jason has lived here longer, but I am technically praetor now, and he doesn't want his job, so-"
"Percy!"
"Kidding, kidding. We're here to discuss the Second Great Prophecy, the Prophecy of Seven."
A silence invaded the room.
"I think it is obvious who is going." Percy said, "Frank, Hazel, and I have all been chosen by some of Rome's most important gods to be in this prophecy. And based on who was supposed to arrive on the Argo, the other four are Jason, Leo, Piper, and Annabeth."
Annabeth shifted uneasily, "Well, actually, we don't exactly... know whether I am the last member of the prophecy."
Percy frowned, "It seems likely. You are the most experienced demigods I know," Leo saw Annabeth blush, "And you are a genius in almost every realm," Annabeth turned even redder, "And given... certain recent events on my latest quest, we have reason of believe the seventh is a daughter of Athena."
Percy exchanged weary looks with Frank and Hazel, who in turn looked cautiously at Octavian.
Hazel forced a smile at Annabeth, Piper, Jason, and Leo, and stammered, "We really should show you four the stables later. You'd love them."
Leo was confused, but he grinned and said sure, causing Hazel to blush and Frank to scowl.
"Now that we have the seven united, what are we supposed to do?" Jason asked.
Frank shrugged. "Death gave us some instructions up in Alaska, but I don't think we should start and rush into something we know so little about."
Percy nodded, "I agree. The Seven should wait here until we get a clear sign of what we must do. Reyna, you are the senior praetor here. I would feel as ease knowing you give your approval for my Greek friends to stay here."
Reyna sighed, "Fine. They may stay."
Leo grinned. "Awesome, Ms. Praetor! Thanks."
Hazel blushed even more when Leo talked, and Frank looked ready to explode.
Reyna scowled at un-respectful response. "You should speak better to your superior," she glowered.
"Aw chill. What's the matter with you guys, anyway? So harsh."
Frank suddenly stood, his face red with anger. "Our problem is you[i], you filthy [i]graecus! You invade our home, bring back our leader you brain-washed into this, weak, pathetic child! You mess with our family, and you dare ask our problem?"
Leo's jaw was wide open as he gaped at Frank. And things got worse. Octavian took this as his chance.
"Yes! Centurion Zhang is wise! He obviously knows what he's talking about, after he won that great battle for us! The Greeks are trying to weaken us so they can take over Rome!"
Percy snapped, "Octavian! Frank! Watch your tongues!"
Frank sneered, "Why, because you are one of them?"
Hazel gasped, "Frank! Percy just saved our camp, and helped us with our curses! You can't be that cruel to your friend! He's a hero!"
"Yes, because we turned him into one!" Octavian said. He put a hand on Frank's shoulder encouragingly, "He was a weak Greek before he came to camp, but we modeled and molded him into a strong, regal Roman warrior! His success is thanks to Rome, not Greece!"
But that was all the Greeks would take, Leo thought, as Annabeth stood, her eyes practically glowing.
"Please! Percy was born a Greek, raised a Greek, and I'd bet he would die a Greek! We are dignified, and don't have to take this bull from anyone! Percy is our family!"
Reyna quickly stood and snarled, "You dare talk about family, girl?"
Hylla stood with her sister, "Yes! You talk of family, but you know nothing! You destroyed our family!"
Percy face-palmed and groaned, "Hylla, Reyna, I thought you two were over that!"
Hylla said strictly, "We forgave you, Percy, because it was not truly your fault! The blame lies with this girl! She is the one who gave the cure to Blackbeard and his minions! Without her, they would be safely contained, and my sister and I would be happy!"
Annabeth growled, "So you two were on Circe's island? You two were the ones who helped lock away my boy-friend and try to stop us from saving our home! I ought to kill you, you savages!"
Leo wouldn't be surprised if steam boiled from Hylla's ears. "I have more dignity to exchange insults with this demon! Kinzie, let us leave this place of filthy graeci!"
Hylla grabbed her assistants wrist and started to march off with the other Amazons. As Kinzie was being dragged away, she quickly winked at Percy and said, "You ever dump the Greek, you call me!" She made a gesture with her hand like a phone.
Annabeth glared at Percy. "What did that mean?"
Percy gulped. "Um- well-"
Annabeth yelled, "You know what? Save it! Good-bye, Percy!"
Annabeth stormed out of the room. Frank yelled at her retreating figure, "Yeah, that's right, Greek! Run away!"
"Frank!" Hazel said, almost in tears. Frank glared at her, "Why don't you just go to your boyfriend!"
He pointed a shaking finger at Leo, who's eyes widened. "What?"
Frank stomped out too.
Reyna glared at Jason and Piper. "I hope your happy with your new girlfriend."
She followed her sister out the door.
Piper looked shocked. "Jason, was she your-"
Jason gulped, "Um- well-"
Piper narrowed her eyes and followed Annabeth out.
Leo stammered, "That went well."
Hazel glared at him with watery eyes, then ran out. The Lares muttered uneasily and disappeared. Most of the Romans, like Octavian, left too, eyes narrowed at Leo and the other Greeks and muttering curses against the Greeks. That left Thalia, Rachel, Grover, Dakota, Jason, Percy, and Leo.
Percy slumped down in his throne, looking tired.
"Sorry bout that, guys. Things like this usually happen when I'm around." he smiled sadly, his eyes glinting with something that, for once, wasn't humor.
Dakota patted him on the shoulder and poured him a glass of Kool-Aid, before leaving himself. "Here. This should take the edge off."
Percy half-smiled, and took a deep drink from the glass. He set the glass down, and shook his head.
"Well, no use crying over spilled milk. Or something like that."
His friends smiled at him sadly. Grover said, "Relax, Percy. Things will work out. They always do."
Jason asked, "Does anyone know what all that was about?"
Percy shrugged wearily. "You know why for Octavian. He just hates Greeks. As for Reyna and Hylla, they once lived on a sorceress's island, and me and Annabeth caused a disturbance on accident. I also think Reyna is mad at Jason for being friends with Piper, and Piper is mad at Jason and Reyna for working together as praetors. Annabeth is mad at me because I'm a jerk-"
Leo saw Grover and Rachel shake their heads.
"- and Frank is mad at you, Leo, because.. Hazel likes you."
"Wha- why would she like me? We haven't even met before?"
"It's... a long story. But she once knew one of your ancestors, Sammy Valdez."
Leo frowned, "Huh. Mom once told me a story about him. But it was so long ago. I hardly even knew if it was real. Wait, how could she have known my ancestor? She can't be older than thirteen."
"She once lived in the nineteen forties. But... well, basically, she was brought to our time. Technically, she's seventy years old."
Leo couldn't help but laugh. Thalia and Grover nodded, like they had heard a similar story before. Jason and Rachel looked confused.
"And now Hazel is upset because two of her closest friends- or, her best friend and her ex-best friend's great-great-grandson, are fighting. No one wants to be in a situation like that."
Rachel smiled. "You'd know, Percy."
Percy smiled for real.
"So, anything I should know about camp?" he asked.
"Not much." Grover shrugged. "Leo, Jason, and Piper arrived there eight months ago, the same time Hera kidnapped you. They activated Festus, went on a quest to save Hera- which, might I add, was justified, because the Queen of the Gods was needed on Olympus. No time for your grudges, Percy."
Percy grunted.
"They saved Hera, along the way finding Thalia and rescuing Piper's dad, found out about the Roman camp, and then started building the Argo II so we could find you."
"Makes sense. Except one thing: who's Festus?"
"A bronze dragon I found lying in the forest." Leo answered.
Percy's eyes widened, "You activated the bronze dragon? That insane monster? That thing almost killed me! Multiple times!"
Leo snorted. "Of course you would know Festus. You did everything at Camp Half-Blood. Charming the girls, blowing up ships with my dead brother, going on insane quests to save the world."
"How do you know so much about my life?" Percy asked, "Stalker."
The room smiled. Everyone was a little less sad now.
Percy stood. "Well, no use waiting around here. You all are new here. Come-on, I'll show you around my new home."

Thanks everyone! Your praise makes my day! Precious211, as a matter of fact, I am a huge Percy fan. My favorite character in the series. Fman172, they definetly will.

III. Annabeth.

Annabeth was fuming. The nerve of that boy! While she was anxiously waiting to see any sign that he was okay, he was off flirting with Amazons! After all the work she put it, he was still an ungrateful jerk!
Annabeth didn't even think about where she was walking. Her feet carried her through Camp Jupiter.
She ended up on a hill, overlooking most of camp. She was standing next to an aqueduct, watching New Rome: the miniature models of the Coliseum and Circus Maximus, a forum studded with columns, the Senate House, and in the distance, the outlines of temples to various gods.
She leaned against a massive oak tree, crossing her arms and glaring at the place that had held her boyfriend for gods-know how long.
"Nice view, eh?"
Annabeth nearly hit her head on a branch, how high she jumped. She turned to face the guy who had said that.
He wore a gray hoodie and jeans, arms in his hoodies' pockets. His hood was up, but you could still see his face. He probably was once a good looking guy. A small, daughter-of-Athena-rebelling side of her said that he could never have been close to Percy, but she chastised that part of her. It was no use comparing now. The left side of his face was covered in horrible burns and scars. He had icy blue eyes that chilled Annabeth, but they currently had a friendly gleam, so she relaxed.
"Oh, hi." she said, "Didn't see you there."
The guy grinned. "Can't be. I'm impossible to miss."
Annabeth rolled her eyes at his "humbleness". "Who are you?"
"Oh, you can call me Castel. Castel Ekwall."
"Castel? That's an interesting name."
He smiled. "It's Spanish. It's an honor to meet you."
Annabeth frowned, "You know me?"
"Well, word spreads fast around camp."
"What word?"
"That a beautiful, brave girl was standing up to our harsh rulers, like Reyna and Octavian."
Annabeth rolled her eyes again. "Save it, Castel. I have a boyfriend."
Castel looked sad, "You have a-" then he brightened, "Oh, I get it. Yeah, you have a boyfriend." He winked.
Annabeth wasn't the best socially. Not many people respond to logic and reason. People are unpredictable. So Annabeth wasn't sure if Castel was making fun of her, or actually agreeing, or what.
"Yeah, I have a boyfriend. So, you live here in Rome? You look too old for a summer camp."
Castel smirked. He wasn't old, in his early twenties, but most demigods don't live to that age. "I live in New Rome. Here, we have demigods that survive longer. They grow old down there."
Annabeth suddenly watched the camp with a new perspective. Demigods growing old? She did see old couples strolling around, adults talking and laughing at the coffee shop, toddlers riding their parent's shoulders. And the architecture down there was actually pretty impressive. I mean, Annabeth thought, improve a couple designs here and there, add a new structural support, and this place would be wonderful to live in.
"Amazing." Annabeth breathed. She could like here. She could stay here with Percy, have fun, go to movies, have dinner, get married-
Wait! Percy was a jerk. Nevermind.
Castel grinned. "Yeah, I was thinking about going to college here. That is, until the borders failed."
Annabeth felt a sinking in her stomach, reminding her of camp, but she brushed it off. She shouldn't worry until she knew what was going on.
"The borders failed?"
Castel sighed, "Yeah, it was tragic. Only a few days ago, an army of monsters attacked us. Cyprian centaurs, karpoi, Hyperborean Cyclopes, gegeines, basilisks... along with their leader, the giant Polybotes. They charged right into New Rome, and our magical defense, the border, didn't block the monsters from invading. Luckily, Terminus held off any monsters from getting in too deep."
"Where are the borders supposed to be?" Annabeth asked.
Castel pointed to the tree she was leaning against. Annabeth stepped forward and turned around, watching the tree.
"It was a gift from the gods." Castel said. "It was the whole reason we chose this location to set up New Rome and Camp Jupiter."
"Set up?"
"Camp is portable. We could pack it all up in a few hours and relocate, if necessary."
Annabeth looked up and down the tree. It did seem more powerful than an average oak tree, but that power seemed... faded. The tree's leaves were turning brown, the bark turning yellow and papery. Annabeth felt like she had been punched in the stomach. Then, a gleam caught her eye.
It was a small badge, engraved in the tree. It was an olive. A bronze olive-shaped badge.
Annabeth shook her head. She would have to check out that at camp, later. She couldn't help but go back, not that long ago, only a week ago, back at Camp Half-Blood...

The night had been cold and cloudy, with freezing winds making it unpleasant to be outside.
Annabeth had been in Bunker Nine when it had happened. She had been working on the Argo, so she could hopefully see Percy soon. She was going out of her mind with worry. Anything could have happened to Percy at the Roman camp. Tortured, exiled, stranded on an island alone... too many choices, all very ugly. She couldn't even begin to think about it if he- if he-
No! She had shook her head firmly, Percy wouldn't die that easily. He may be annoying, but he was tough and brave. And his curse of Achilles, that would protect him for a while. Assuming he remembered where his Achilles' spot was.
And if he didn't remember her? Annabeth was smarter than that. She didn't fret about whether Percy Jackson remembered her. No, she planned everything out. If he did remember her, great. If he didn't, she would just slap him until he did.
The thought of slapping a memory-ridden Percy senseless almost made her smile. Percy really didn't mind all that, she knew. He didn't mind the pain he suffered for being with her, just like she learned to not mind when he did something stupid. She changed it to giving him a kiss instead.
The Argo II was so close to being completed. Just a few more days, and she would see Percy again.
Suddenly, the doors came bursting opened, giving Annabeth the view to the dark world outside, raining and thundering. A silhouette stood in the doorway, panting, then raced over to Annabeth.
"Leo?" Annabeth exclaimed, as the son of Hephaestus scrambled toward her, pressing a cloth to a wound on his shoulder. "What happened to you?"
"Come- quick." Leo panted, his hair plastered to his face from the rain, "Camp- under- attack."
Annabeth didn't need to hear more. She was already sprinting out the door, into the forest.
She scrambled out of the woods, to see one of her worst fears.
Camp Half-Blood was in flames.
The Big House was surrounded in fire, half of it collapsed in on itself. The dining pavilion was scattered. Charred black holes burned in the grass. The cabins too had flames on every side. The fire had not yet reached the building yet, thanks to the rain, but it would soon. Smoke poured into the air, as campers ran from the destruction screaming.
Annabeth grabbed someone as they tried to sprint past. It was Clarisse.
"Clarisse! What. Happened?"
Clarisse moaned, "A Draco Aionius. And manticores! The borders are down, they just smashed through! They- they-"
Then Annabeth saw two giant bat wings emerge from the flames, followed by scorpion tail, then-
Annabeth ducked, as a giant manticore, a creature with the body of a lion, head of a man, and tail of a scorpion, flew past. Except this manticore was much different from the last manticore Annabeth saw. It had huge black bat wings.
Annabeth gaped as more bat-winged manticores flew out from the smoke, hurling flaming spikes at the campers that Annabeth knew were laced with poison.
And then, the Draco Aionius arrived. A giant, bus-sized komodo dragon, with pale yellow scales, and evil red eyes. It hissed, and a rush of vapor blew from its mouth. When the vapor hit the ground, the floor exploded.
Draco Aionius. "In the words of Percy, really-big-lizard-with-breath-that-blows-stuff-up.&quot;
"Now is no time to be thinking about your boyfriend!" Clarisse snapped.
Annabeth blushed as she realized she said that last part out loud. She then reached for her knife and invisibility hat.
Don't be stupid, the rebellious part of her thought, you can't take that many monsters! You had enough trouble fighting one manticore, who couldn't even fly. They'd take you out in a second.
Annabeth cursed, and started to think of a plan.
"Clarisse! Go get Grover! I'll distract the monsters."
Clarisse screamed, "Are you insane? They'll kill you!"
Annabeth smiled grimly, and put on her hat. "I'll survive."
She turned to the monsters again, and made a silent deal,
You promise you'll survive the Roman camp, Percy, and I promise I will survive this. We live together or not at all.

Annabeth snapped back to reality. It was too hard, thinking about what happened then. She looked at Castel.
He had a sad twinkle in his eye, like he knew what she was thinking. "Thinking about a bad time, huh? The war?"
Not exactly what Annabeth was thinking about, but she nodded, "Yeah."
Castel smiled sadly. "Yeah, I remember my part in the war. How I earned these." he gently slid a hand across the burned side of his face.
Annabeth flinched, "What happened."
Castel looked down, "My friends. Other demigods. We... found ourselves on opposite sides."
Annabeth nodded sadly, "Yeah, I know what its like how to have your friend betray you."
Castel nodded awkwardly, "Yeah. My two enemies, they we were close. A guy I once taught myself, and a girl like my sister."
"I'm so sorry."
Castel shrugged, "Well, their loss, you know? So the three of us were fighting, and the girl, she... tricked me. Made me almost want to join their side again. Then the guy, he hit me with his greatest weapon while I was weak..."
Castel shuddered from the memory. Annabeth didn't push him, but she knew it must have been horrible to burn him that badly.
"Well, a goddess saved me, and I devoted the rest of my life to her." Castel said.
Annabeth smiled, "Good for you, Castel."
Castel suddenly looked queasy. "I'd better go. Later, Beth."
Castel ran down the hill, Annabeth watching him go. She sighed, then relaxed, closing her eyes for a brief rest.
Smack! Annabeth felt a hand slap her in the face. She stood up, fuming, to see the retreating figure of Percy running away.
"Perseus Jackson! I will KILL YOU!"
Annabeth went sprinting after her boyfriend.
Along the way, she met Reyna, Frank, Hazel, Leo, and Piper, all glaring around and yelling for Percy.
"Percy hit you too?" Annabeth growled.
They nodded, and the four of them ran where they last saw Percy.
Suddenly, Annabeth was being lifted on top of the coffee shop.
"Hey babe!" Percy said cheerfully, setting Annabeth down.
"You have five seconds to run." Annabeth growled, "Before things get ugly."
Percy smirked, "No, it's okay Annabeth. I've thought about it long and hard, and I've decided: I can forgive you."
"What?!" Annabeth practically screamed.
Percy held up a finger to her lips. "Hold on a sec. I have some loyalty to bring."
Percy jumped off the roof, a little ahead of the group of demigods.
They spotted him, just as Percy started yelling, "Okay, Octavian, I did it! Now please don't hurt them!"
Piper growled at Percy, "What are you talking about?"
Percy flinched, "I didn't want to do it, but Octavian made me! He said that if I didn't hit each of you, he would kill you all! I couldn't let him do that!"
They seemed to calm down, "Why would he want you to hurt us?"
"He hates me, ever since I stole his job as praetor. He wanted to turn everyone against me."
Reyna growled, "That podex! I'm going to kill him!"
The group ran away, chanting for Octavian to be sliced to bits. Percy grinned, then climbed back up with Annabeth.
"There, hit two birds with one stone," he smirked.
Annabeth sighed, "Octavian really said that?"
Percy smiled. "No. But I really do hate him, and what's the best way to unite people? By giving them a common enemy. So now all the people who were fighting with each other are working together to kill a guy no one likes. Win-win for everyone!"
Annabeth glared, "And why'd you tell me that?"
"Because I actually have a problem lying to you."
"You have some nerve, coming back here and acting like nothing happened. You're not making it easy to forgive you."
Percy shook his head, "Annabeth, you can't forgive me."
"I could if you weren't such a jerk."
"Annabeth, in order for you to forgive me, I would have needed to do something wrong."
"You did!"
"Okay, what did I do? Not what Kinzie did, but what I did?"
Annabeth drew a blank, "You- you... uh..."
Percy grinned. "Yeah, that's what I thought."
Annabeth glared, "You just slapped me!"
"Yeah, because you have never ever physically hurt me."
"When have I ever hurt you?" Annabeth demanded.
"Well, that time at Westover Hall? I wondered who I should dance with, and you punched me in the gut? And remember that Capture the Flag Game before we met Festus? You smashed into me with your armor on. And that other time, when-"
Annabeth smacked him across the face. Percy just grinned and looked back at her. "As I was saying, when you slapped me for proving you wrong?"
Annabeth felt like screaming. "What do you want?!"
"I wanna hang out with my girlfriend, and she seems bent on the fact that it's my fault a girl has a stupid crush on me. But I don't blame you when a guy checks you out. I just beat up the guy."
"You are so, so annoying."
"Did I ever try to deny that?"
Annabeth really hated feeling vulnerable to anyone, but to Percy, it was torture. Must... not...
Annabeth gave up and wrapped her arms around Percy. Percy smiled, a much nicer, genuine smile in Annabeth's expert opinion, and tightly gripped Annabeth back.
"So, what now?" Annabeth asked.
Percy raised an eyebrow, "What do you mean?"
"We're all made up now. And we aren't going on a quest right now. Everything is so... relaxed now. We normally have so much drama."
Percy gulped, "Actually, I think I know what's next."
Annabeth frowned, "What?"
"I think it's time the seven of the prophecy met Ella."
