Okay so, before I begin this article, I would just like to say one thing. The title is so totally awesome right? Amazing, catchy!? No? It's not? Yeah, I didn't think so either, it's okay.
Now to the point. In "The Lost Hero" we meet new characters, tag along with Jason, Piper, and Leo on some cool adventures on their quest, and get to hear some stories we haven't heard before. But are some of these things not quite as new as they seem? I'm sure some of you have noticed it too. Here are a couple of things I've noticed that we came upon in other places in the Percy Jackson fandom as well as in "The Lost Hero".
1) In "The Demigod Files", we read for the first time the story of "Percy Jackson and the Bronze Dragon". I won't go deeply into this one in case some of you haven't read this book yet, but I think the title of the tale is quite clear as to this hint. Let's just say that it includes a certain son of Hephaestus and the reconstructing of a certain metal beast.
2) The Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief game <at least the one for the DS> incorporated an endevor down into the Underworld. Whilst you were there, you had to retrieve gold; and where better to retrieve gold from then King Midas's palace? Of course, they made a fault as to the location of Midas's palace but nonetheless included it. Does the man ring any bells?
3) <This one is a bit more obvious.> Then there is, of course, the matter of the phropesy. I think we could all assume that a new phropesy at the end of one series including "a problem for a new generation of demigods" and the news of a new series that intertwines with the old one could be pieced together nicely. Rachel's propesy was a rather large hint as to what we might have expected for the future.
Quite obviously, for the first two at least, there was no way of telling that these might be included in the newer series, but, nonetheless, they can be taken as hints we didn't know where hints. And even though it was really very likely, we also had no evidence that number three would happen either. Now, I know most people have a better eye for these things then me, and I'm almost positive there were other things like these hidden somewhere in the fandom. So, please, feel free to add your own hints we didn't know where hints via comments below.
Thanks for reading! And don't forget to add your hints <which are sure to be much more logical then mine!> below! I'd love to hear what else we didn't know we already knew! ;D
