I Just Might Be Next Chapter IDK
I had came home yesterday and slept most of the time. Who knew being shot so many times took so much out of you?
Today was a new day. And I start back school today. I was really nervous and scared. I was scared to walk down the halls. Scared that the nightmares would turn up again. I had nightmares about what happen. It's scary when you are standing there and looking at yourself. I watched myself get shot three times and I had this dream more than once. So I knew what I should have done to prevent the situtation from getting worse.
Mattie do you need help? Sam asked.
Yeah. I said meekly.
Okay what do you want me to do? He asked.
Umm I don't know. I'm not even sure where my backpack is at. I said.
Right here, they called Billy about yesterday. He said.
Oh okay. I said.
You're going to be fine. He can't get you; he's gone. He said.
I'm fine. I said some what believeable.
Jacob will be here soon to pick you up. He said.
Okay. I said.
Do you want some cereal? Sam asked.
Not really. I said.
Okay. Mattie, I love you! Be careful, please. He said.
Of course. I smiled.
There's the hero that saved my life. Jake said as he busted through the door.
Jake! I didn't save your life. I'm the one who told you to run andthen you got shot. I could have gotten you killed. I said.
You are a hero! You saved three people's lives. And you stopped the bad guy. Jake said.
Let's not get into this right now. I said.
Good idea. Jake take care of her for me. Sam said.
Will do. Jake said as he grabbed Mattie's backpack.
Bye Sam. Love you. I said.
Bye Mattie. He said.
Jacob opened my door for me and sat my backpack down in the floor of his Rabbit car. Or whatever kind it was.
You excited about going back? Jake asked as he got in.
Not really. I said.
Are you scared about the flashbacks and stuff? He asked.
Oh yes, terrified. I said.
Me too. He said.
We walked into school and everyone stood in the halls. They looked at Jake and I and started clapping. Jake started clapping with them. I could feel myself blushing. As everyone clapped I could feel myself smiling. I didn't know so many people knew about me.
Thanks for getting my backpack but I can carry it. I think. I said to Jake.
Are you sure? He asked.
No. I'm not going to be able to ge around this school by myself. I can't carry my backpack full of books and if I did. I would drop this stupid crutch and then I would fall downtrying to pick it up. I can't wait ti my arm will be out of this sling. I said.
Look I promised Sam that I would take care of you and well it's the least I can do. Jake said.
"Jacob! You don't have to do it because you think I'm a hero-"
But you are a hero! Jake said.
But you don't owe me! I had to do something. I couldn't sit there. I said.
Okay, then I will help you out as a friend. He said.
That's better. I said.
Have you talked to Seth? Jake asked.
No, I slept all day yesterday. I said.
Yeah he called me last night. He said.
Oh what'd he say?! I asked.
Do you want the part where he asked about you or the other stuff? Jake asked smiling.
Of course I want the other stuff. I said sarcastically.
Right, he asked how you were doing. I responded with "she got shot three times, but she's fine.". He's worried about you. Bad. He said.
Oh I didn't know he would be worried. I said.
What'd you think he would be? He asked.
I thought he would meet some blonde chick and forget about me. I said.
Seth can't forget about you. Youre his best friend. I'm not even that close to him. Jake laughed.
Yeah. I said.
We walked down the halls and the nightmare came to life.
Jake and I shivered at the same time. We stood there for a second. Both looking at where we layer, half alive. It was scary.
Jake, Mattie, are you two okay? The principle asked.
Um yeah. Jake stuttered.
Okay. You better get to class before you're super late. He said.
Okay. Jake said.
The principle walked the other way and Jacob start walking the other way.
Mattie come on. Jake said.
Oh sorry. I said
Jake walked me to class and to my seat because I couldn't carry my stupid backpack that was heavy as all get out.
This was going to be a tough day.
