Does it really harm my teeth when I have a piercing in my lower lip or my upper lip?

i suppose it depends on how long the bar is if its touching ur teeth and how far down the pierced it...
personally my piercer pierced my lip to where my lip ring when touch my teeth (altho when i first got it . it did because of the swelling) but my if it touched anything it touches my gums
