Is there a way to play multiplayer on Minecraft PE, and if so, then how?

also, on an unrelated note, what is the most sufficient way to mine? I usually go down 10-20 blocks and branch out different corridors, but how do you do it? and don't yell at me for being a noob, plz. :)
