Harry Potter Question

Do you think Harry Potter could become a classic?

Now, when I say classic, I mean anything in that range. Children's Classic, Adult Classic, any kind of classic. Maybe you think that it could just stay popular for a few more years, but never become an actual classic. So what do you guys think?

I think it should and it will become a classic.Honestly, I believe that today's arts are not what they used to be anymore, including literature. To my eyes Harry Potter seems like a huge fire that lights the dark times of literature! That was a bit emotional but true!I doubt there is any other work that can combare to this nowadays. To the point of being a classic at least. But I read somewhere (can't remember the link) that professors of the english universities start discussing the possibility of Harry Potter becoming a classic.I wish they understand soon Harry Potter's value and epicness, because some ignorant say that it doesn't deserve all that fuss!

That was EXACTLY what I was thinking. Books today were never as good as books before.

It would seem like a classic amongst our litrature now but maybe not in comparison to the old classics hopefully Harry potter will become a classic but if not it will still be the most famous books of the last few decades

Oh, and I know this is late, but I think I found the link where you said that professors at English universities are discussing about the possibility of Harry Potter becoming a classic. Not sure if it's the link you're talking about, but here you go: link

A classic is timeless, a book that never loses its charm over time. A classic is cherished by generations, almost universally known. Yes, Harry Ptter could, quite easily, become a classic, ranking among the other great works, such as The Oddysey.

That's the question- whether or not Harry Potter will really stand the test of time. If in a couple hundred years, it will still be relevant. I'm sure it will have a long life- fans of the series will pass it on to their children and grandchildren. But is it timeless...? I really think it has the potential to be.

Well, JKR never mentions things particular to a certain time period, so all generations can identify with it. The only thing that's a bit particulr is the Ford Anglia, but that can easily be substituted for any other rustbucket
