hey i've read all the books and i've seen all the movies but i m not sure about sth... snape's patronus is a deer- or sth- right?? what is the point of revealing it?? we just come to the conclusion that he was the one to protect harry?? :///
The Pont? The point of revealing Snape's Patronus clears up so many mysteries. For example, in the chapter, "The Silver Doe," we see that Harry is given the Sword of Gryffindor by someone with a doe Patronus.
When Harry first leans about Patronuses, we find out that a Patronus is a representation of your soul. It represents who you are. Thus, Harry's stag Patronus reveals that his father, Prongs, lives on in him. Snape's doe reveals the depth of his feelings for Lily. Do you recall the change in shape of Tonks' Patronus? It changed to represent who she became. It changed to Lupin.
Snape only protected Haarry because of Lily. Because he has her eyes. Of course, it was torture, seeing Lily's eyes on the face of the man he hated. But it was those eyes that were the last thing he saw before he joined Lily.

oh thank you so much! i didn't remember that think about the representation of the soul.. i knew that it revealed his love for lily and the fact that he protected harry, but i didn't remember the details about what one's patronus means and stuff.. thank you so much!! and sorry for my english...
It makes the most sense ifcyou look at the end of POA, where the stag is explained. Your Patronus is a part of you. It comes from inside you, from the thing that makes you most happy
No problem. I'll be happy to clarify anything else you're confused on. (You should see my explanation of why the Ministry never blamed Harry for Cedric's death)
