Harry Potter Question

Do you think Lilly would have been happier with Snape?

Obviously Lilly and James loved each other very much, but Snape also immensely loved Lilly. After she died he even protected her son for her! Snape loved Lilly even though she was a mubblood. Do you think if Snape did not get involved with dark magic and deatheaters, they could have been happy together? …Or do you think Lilly could never feel the same way Snape feels for her?

I apoligize for all the Lilly and Snape questions today! Its just that it has been really frustrating me after I watched the movie and saw Snape cry while rocking Lilly’s dead body back and forth..

No worries, Snape is my absolute favourite character and I loved Alan Rickman's portrayal in the films...but the rocking Lily's dead body was a bit OTT o.O

I actually wasn't the biggest SNape fan. I mean, I like him, I love love love what he did. and Alan did an amazing job, but he never fully clicked for me.

Well, Rowling herself said that Lily's feelings for Snape would have turned romantic if not for his love for the Dark Arts and his association with Death Eaters, so obviously she *could* have loved him as he loved her. I think that's part of the reason Snape was never able to let her go - as an adult looking back on the situation, he knew that she would have loved him if only he had made different choices in his youth.

If Snape had never had anything to with the Dark Arts, I think he would have made Lily a million times happier than James ever could, but as long as he was involved in so much evil, Lily could never have been happy with him.

*Lily
And no, I don't think so. Lily never felt the same way for Severus as he did for her. For her, it was friendship, for Sev, he wanted more...she was the only person he ever loved, I think. I don't think she would have ever considered him as more than a friend - I think she always loved James but took a while to realise it.
So my answer is no, I don't think Lily felt the same way.
Imagine how hard it was for Sev, seeing her eyes on the face he hated...and he protected Harry, for her. He loved her more than anything, and it wasn't enough. :'(
RIP Severus Snape, the bravest man I ever knew.

It's called unrequited love. :)

It probably is the worst kind of love.

Lily. Did not. Love. Snape. She loved James, and I don't think she ever could have loved Snape as more than a brother. He was her friend, and she saw him as nothing more. She loved James, and that's that.

I don't think Lily would ever love snape like she loved James. Snape was a dark character, even as a child he was dark (as you see in Dh part2 ) and Lily was so full of light, and overall better with James.

Yeah i just it a few days ago! And I like to think that opposites attract, thats why they would go so well together.

It was never meant to be - Harry would never have existed, Voldemort would have come to power and everybody would have been suffering from lack of hero ;D There would be no story!

No, she wouldn't have. Because (as was said numerous times on your other question) Lily did not love Severus romantically! Yes, Severus loved her romantically, but she didn't love him back romantically. She would not have been happy spending the rest of her life with someone she did not love romantically.

Perhaps if Severus hadn't been involved in the Dark Arts, Lily might have grown to love him romantically, but there's no definite answer for this. Only speculation.

No. She was happy with James and you can't be happier than happy if you are happy. You are either happy or not happy with someone and Lily was happy with James. She would have never been happy with Snape because Snape was a death eater and had the exact opposite morals than Lily. Yes, he loved her, but that's not enough for a relationship to work. You need common morals. That is as essential as sex.

All I can say is maybe . Just maybe. Honestly noone can say yes or no because they were still quite young , you can't really predict if she will love him romantically or not . Maybe she would come to love him romantically if he never join the dark arts in a year or 10 years time or maybe never . Sometimes even the most unlikely pair to become a couple , might actually end up together . And if she did come to love him and he had stopped using the Dark arts , I think they would have been equally as happy as james and lily were .... Or maybe not ... Maybe they got married then divorced ... Maybe if snape and lily were still friend , she may have not end up falling for James and maybe end up with nether . Who knows ? It's JK Rowling's book . It's her choice to make . Its her universe . So just use your imagination , if want them to end up together or not , it's your mind , it's your choice .
