WHISPERS OF THE PAST
Clat stood on the landing ledge of the old cave, looking out at the starry sky. Her parents, Twera and Mizuko, were long dead. Her brothers had gone off on their own and established their own caves. So, she was left in the Temple. She knew her Uncle Thunderhawk name the place Twera's Temple for the torches outside. She knew the name had been shortened soon after he died. Clat knew lots of things.
But, of the things she knew, the ever-present star Eyelight remained a mystery. How could such a distant star be seen in the noon sky every single day? It was an answer she had been searching years for.
She had dove into her mother's archives, which had been completed of her parents' story at thed time of her death. She had discovered that there was much more to the story than Twera's bedtime stories ever revealed. The archives ran like a novel. She could hardly put it down.
Tonight, Clat was not reading, not taking notes, not doing research if any kind. She was just looking, her lavender eyes locked on that twinkling pinprick. The wind blew aa few fallen leaves across the ledge, whispering a name. Thunderhawk…Thunderhawk…
She reached her mind toward the star, and felt…something.
<Thunderhawk?>

Well, you'll have to. Following "Whispers of the Past" will be the final book in the Alliance trilogy: "What Shall Come to Pass." That book focuses on the events that led the characters to the cave that snowy night.
