scarletunicorn picked Negative, I really dislike her:
For a few reasons:

1- Generic design. Almost like a Jasmine/Maria (Book of life) rip-off

2-The fact that she's the only princess that won't have an animated movie. It's not for snobbery, but at least the other girls are in movies that are viewed worldwide by people (thus gaining popularity or at least visibility). Disney TV shows aren't shown in every country (heck, not even in every house) and aren't as well known as the Disney movies. Let's be honest, who is more well-known, Mulan or Sofia the First? And that's what Disney expects their latina princess to be? The most unpopular of the group? It's like a slap in the face to Hispanic/Latino Disney fans.

3- She probably won't be in the line. It's just a cope-out for whenever Disney will be accused of being racist, they'll show her to the public while crying "see, see, we're not racist, we have a latina princess, we care, so shut up and be happy".

Like IDK i'm sure if they had pulled this shit up with Tiana there would've been under constant attack.

^^^Mary said it. I just don't know enough. Her character design could be a bit more original, but at the same time I doesn't bother me much, since the appearance isn't what matters to me. Hopefully her show will depict her culture accurately an interestingly.

So far, A LOT of people are judging her based on her appearance, because she looks like a mixture of Jasmine and Maria (Book of Life) I understand why people don't want recycled character designs

But that SHOULDN'T be the soul reason to hate a character, even if she is still in development. That's just shallow to me

I'm going to wait and see what her personality is like, her personality itself may be unique compared to Jasmine and Maria and it will be enough for Elena to be viewed as her own person.

But just like everyone else I will be waiting for one year to see what she is like.

I just hope (even if it's a LONG-shot) that Elena's series will gain enough attention for theatre release based on either before she was trapped in the Amulet of Avalor or after her physical body is restored and has to take on a great evil when she returns to Avalor

^^well said.

although I kind of agree with Scarlet that it feels like they're just doing it to shut Latinos up, but imo it's more SJWs than Latinos. and they're going to complain no matter how perfect Disney tries to make her.

Judging from her looks, she is very gorgeous and attractive. I love how she uses red as her colour. I always wanted a princess using red as her main colour.
