Yes, because she's a princess, she's smart, she's unique in her own way, and has interesting qualities. Beauty shouldn't really be a factor. Atlantis takes itself seriously, which I respect. It's a movie that doesn't treat the audience like they're stupid.
No, because she became a queen at the end of her movie. Others argue about her age. She's over 1,000 years old because of the crystal she and the rest of her people wear. She's also a warrior who might have killed people in the past (her father's words). Atlantis isn't a very popular movie (though it was one of my favorite movies when I was little). Though I think if she was a princess, people would want to watch the movie out of curiousity. They say she wasn't counted because the movie wasn't a musical, but I don't see why that should really matter- the soundtrack is gorgious.
I look at it both ways, really. I think we need a very unique princess every once in awhile, so we aren't repeating characteristics all the time. But on the other hand, I think it's sometimes best left alone.. I don't know why, I used to be really ticked off that she wasn't counted.
