Cats Question

2 Cats?

I have 2 cats one male and one female, ever since we got the female, everytime the male has seen her he's chased her, the male is quite old and i don't know how old the female is as we got her as an adult, and I have no idea why they do it? please help.

is the male neutered? otherwise it could be the reason for the chase... also, getting two old cats to live together is quite hard. I got an adult male (about 8 months) and the female I had then hated him. she was about 6 years old and they fought all the time. you might have to take some extra steps to get them to get along peacefully.

No, he isn't, well we actually try and keep them separated, they probably see each other when out, but, its just getting tiring because, the female doen't dare go anywere in the house, she just stays in my bedroom and goes out on the odd occasion. And thanks for the help.
