Buffy the Vampire Slayer Question

When Buffy died in the 5th season finale, why was there not another Slayer chosen?

We got Kendra the first time she died, then Faith when Kendra died, but no one for Buffy the second time she died. The only reasons I can think of is because,
A) Faith was still alive.
B) She died an unnatural death.

What do you guys think?

Because Buffy wasn't the "official" slayer anymore.

In season one, Buffy died and Kendra was called. When Kendra was killed, Faith was called. Faith never died at all through Buffy, so she remained the "official" slayer. When Buffy died again in season five, it didn't matter: the "real" slayer was still alive.

I'm not too sure but I think it could have been either because buffy quit the council or because buffys blood was shared with dawns. Like, the monks made dawn out if buffy if that makes sense... :)

bri-marie explained it perfectly. The next slayer wouldn't be called until Faith died.
