Buffy the Vampire Slayer Question

Who do you think really made Buffy who she was?

Ive been having this debate with my friend over who really made Buffy Summers who she was. Joss Whedon or Sarah Michelle Gellar?

Im not sure, I'm actually tied between the two. Sarah's portrayed Buffy. She is what we see and think of when we say Buffy's name. Whereas Joss created her!

What do you guys think, because I'm tied between them?

I call it a 50/50 split. As a die hard fan I even like the old movie and even it had qualities of the show. So without SMG and Whedon it wouldn't be what it was.
