Okay, I'm just gonna advertise my current top ten anime...

1. Ouran High School Host Club (ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS. My favorite anime of all time! It has some otaku culture references that could leave new anime-watchers confused... On the other hand, it was my first anime.)

2. Soul Eater (Funny and action-packed. On top of that, the music and animation are beautiful.)

3. Durarara!! ('Intriguing' is the best way to describe this anime. Tons of unusual characters, and a unique storyline. My favorite is Izaya!)

4. Kuroshitsuji/Black Butler (Comes off as dark and mysterious, but is actually extremely amusing. It also takes place in England, which is pretty freaking awesome in itself.)

5. Baccano! (This amazing anime takes place in America in the 1930s. Though that doesn't sound particularly exciting, this anime may as well be the definition of epic.)

6. Axis Powers Hetalia (This is one hell of a funny show. Each character represents a country, and it plays off the stereotypes of that country for their personality. You will never look at world history the same!

7. Baka and Test (Tied with Sgt. Frog for the funniest show I've ever seen. 'Nuff said.)

8. Sgt. Frog (Tied with Baka and Test for the funniest show I've ever seen. It's never, I repeat, NEVER serious, so it's great for me to watch when I'm feeling down.)

9. Code Geass (This show follows the exploits of Lelouch Lamperouge, a teenage genius, in his quest to defeat the empire of Britannia and avenge his mother's death. This show is so epic; it gives me chills. Oh, and it has giant mechs! xD)

10. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (More giant mechs. Like, GIGANTIC mechs. Plus Kamina. Equals awesomeness.)

Okay, i give you some suggetions, but i would recommend you to begin with this animes.

1. Kaichou wa maid-sama! - Whats a better anime to start with than a normal romance anime? This series is hilarious, with hilarious moments, handsome guys and a absolutely lovely main character this is a good beginning! (School romance, comedy.)
2. Shugo chara - So, lets get on with some magic! About a girl that want to change herself, really good anime about dreams and friendship. (School life, mahou shoujo, romance)
3. Durarara!! - Let us go to some darker anime, Ryugamine Mikado moves to Ikekuburo to begin the same school as his friends, this is a good anime, it contains some humor but it is also some action and maybe romance. (Action, comedy, romance)
4. Detective Conan - Totally addicting anime! This series is quite long but its not pointless! You can get smarter with this awesome detective series. (action, romance, comedy, mystery)
5. Death Note - If you have watched conan then this anime is brilliant, in a world a man wants to change he gets something called a "Death Note" that changes his life. (mystery, action, shounen, some comedy)
6. Axis powers hetalia - Well, a anime about personified countries and the time during WW2, it is a comedy filled with some satire, stereotypes etc that can offend you, watch out for the fanbase..but its a really good anime!

*1) InuYasha- it can be a little boring sometimes but overall its fantastic! (Shonen, Demons, Swords)

2) Hetalia- You will laugh your ass off!! Basically put all the countries in the world, make them actual people, and put them in WW2 time! (Comedy)

3) Durarara!!- Keep's you waiting and waiting! NOt much to an "exciting" plot but its a great anime! (Shonen)

4) Bakuman- Not really well known. These 2 middle school boys try to create manga together while making multiple dreams happen. It is just amazing.

I'm not really going to name the rest because I haven't really thought that out yet. So I'll name 6 good animes~

**Highschool Of the Dead- Your typical ecchi type. Zombies take over the world, and kids try to stop them.

**Elfen Lied- It makes to cry, scared, laugh, and everything in between!

Death Note- Amazing life lesson plot. Definitely a must watch!

*Ranma 1/2- A unique storyline- A boy who can change into a girl. but that boy has to find a way to change back while having a fiance to deal with.

*shounen - "boy", usually aimed towards boys but girls watch them too
*shojou - "girl", usually aimed towards girls but guys watch them too
*supernatural -(duh) but can have demons, angels, magic, ect.
*random - doesnt really have a storyline, but just little clips strung together to make a show
*slice-of-life - basically what the protagonist/antagonist does in their everyday lives
