What's the poit of making such a beautifull storyline in last episodes of this crappy season if it was to end it right next it started?

Although I loved them, Annie and Caleb were just a filler couple while Annie was getting back into dating and while Liam was dating every girl on the show.

Plus, I think they had a pretty definite ending on the finale. Like they kissed one last goodbye and Caleb was going to move on with his religion and all that. If I had to guess, I'd say they're done.
